It’s in January of 1989 that the long tradition of the Jeux du Commerce started. The main objectes were to create informal long-lasting relationships between its participants, to favor business and student relationships as well as favoring initiative, healthy competition, idea creation as well as the development of excellence. Furthermore, only 8 universities took part in this initial competition with nearly 600 participants. All of the participants were boarded at the host university’s sports complex!
Year after year, the competition to win the Jeux du Commerce’s top honors has become more intense. Each year, the Patrice Bourbonnais trophy (Jeux du Commerce founding president) is given to the university having accumulated the most amount of points.
Today, the Jeux du Commerce aims to promote exchanges between the 13 different student associations of the commerce and administration faculties of the participating universities and the business world. This event now brings together more than 1 200 commerce and administration students.
